Privacy Policy

Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how Patch Tattoo Therapy LLC (doing business as VidPrep, "we", "us") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the VidPrep desktop app and the vidprep.app website.

VidPrep is built around a simple principle: your footage stays on your Mac unless you explicitly send it for AI analysis. This policy explains exactly what that means.

What Stays on Your Mac

Culling and trimming run entirely on your computer. When you review, rate, organize, or trim footage in VidPrep, those video files are processed locally and are never uploaded to us or to anyone else.

What We Collect

Account information

• Your email address and name, provided when you create an account.
• Records of transactional emails sent to you (such as sign-in and billing notifications).

Billing information

• Your subscription plan and billing status, processed through Stripe. We never see or store your card number.

Usage records

• Your credit balance and AI analysis usage: minutes analyzed, timestamps, and the AI model used. We keep these records to enforce plan quotas and to show you your usage history.

Uploaded clips (AI analysis only)

• When you send clips to AI Selects, those clips are uploaded for analysis. This is the only situation in which your footage leaves your Mac, and it only happens when you initiate it.

Log data

• Like most web services, our hosting and infrastructure providers (Vercel, Railway, Supabase) automatically record standard log data when you use the website or cloud features: IP address, browser and device information, and access timestamps. We use these logs for security, debugging, and abuse prevention.

How AI Analysis Handles Your Footage

Clips you send to AI Selects are analyzed using the Google Gemini API. The following applies to those clips:

• Google's Files API retains uploads for at most 48 hours, after which they are automatically deleted; we delete files sooner, as soon as analysis completes.
• Your footage is not used to train AI models. We use the Gemini API on a paid tier, which does not train on customer data.
• We do not keep copies of your clips on our servers after analysis.

Where Your Data Is Processed

Your data is processed and stored in the United States. If you use VidPrep from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States.

Cookies

We use a small number of cookies, mainly to keep you signed in. For details, see our Cookie Policy.

Data Retention

• Account data: kept until you delete your account.
• Usage records: kept while your account is active, for quota enforcement and billing history.
• Billing and transaction records: we may retain these after account deletion where required by law (for example, tax and accounting requirements).
• Uploaded clips: deleted as soon as analysis completes; retained by Google for at most 48 hours in any case.

Your Rights

You may access, correct, delete, or export your personal data. Depending on where you live (for example, under the GDPR or the CCPA), these rights may be guaranteed by law, and we honor them for all users regardless of location.

To exercise these rights:

• Delete your account yourself: go to Settings → Security → Delete Account on the website. This removes your account and associated personal data.
• Email us: contact support@vidprep.app for any request, including deletion. Deletion requests are processed within 7 days.

No Sale of Personal Data

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it with third parties for advertising.

Analytics

We do not currently run analytics on the website or in the app. If we adopt analytics in the future, we will use privacy-respecting tools and update this policy before doing so.

Children

VidPrep is not intended for children under 13 (or the age of digital consent in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy on this page and update the date above. For material changes, we will notify you by email.
